Dorin Shapira

BioMEMS researcher. PhD Candidate @ Technion.

profile.jpeg

Hi! I’m Dorin Shapira, a PhD candidate at the Technion in Prof. Leeya Engel’s Lab, where I’m beginning my journey in the field of BioMEMS.

My background is in dynamics and vibrations, with an M.Sc. focused on mechanical engineering, complemented by experience in algorithm development. I genuinely enjoy learning (my academic path probably gives that away), but what excites me most is turning theory into real-life applications and discovering that, more often than not, reality has other plans. That’s where the interesting work begins.

Outside the lab, you’ll usually find me hiking with my family, taking photos, or playing ultimate frisbee.
